Horse riding on the Costa del Sol

Seeing and enjoying nature from the back of a horse is an unforgettable experience. In Málaga province there are riding centres and active tourism companies offering pony trekking routes for all levels: from complete beginners to expert riders. An ideal opportunity to discover the natural contrasts of the Costa del Sol.

Outstanding riding centres

If you want to learn to ride, you can easily find a centre that offers riding lessons. Many centres also hold events and equestrian shows where you can admire these magnificent creatures.

One leading centre is the Riding School of the Real Maestranza de Caballería (Royal School of Cavalry) of Ronda, the oldest in Spain and dedicated to classical dressage. The Costa del Sol School of Equestrian Art in Estepona, is another of Spain's most important centres.

For a truly memorable experience visit Club El Ranchito in Torremolinos. Every season there are special packages available that include an equestrian show, flamenco and dinner.

Reservatauro: bulls and horses running free

Reservatauro offer a unique opportunity to see Andalusian horses running free in unrivalled surroundings. Located in the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve, this ranch breeds fighting bulls and thoroughbred Spanish horses. One of their guided visits, Amongst bulls and horses, gives you the chance to explore the world of bulls and horses in the heart of the Mediterranean grazing lands.
